How to Withdraw Profits Made With an OKX Trading Bonus
The OKX trading bonus itself can't be withdrawn, and it can't be moved to your funding account, a sub-account or anyone else's account. Profit you make by opening positions with it is credited to your real account, and that part can be withdrawn or transferred. The rule comes from the OKX Help Center page "How do I use Trading bonus?", which says the bonus can't be withdrawn but any profit earned by using it can.
The bonus works in three kinds of trading only: margin trading, perpetual futures and options, with one options product excluded (section 04 has the exact wording). If you've never put real money into derivatives, think of it as practice margin handed over by the platform: losses come out of it first, and what you earn is yours. The catch is that it has two expiry dates, and switching account mode voids whatever you haven't used.

01Can you withdraw or transfer the bonus itself?
No to both. The terms on the help page say the trading bonus can't be transferred to other accounts or withdrawn, and the section on its scope adds that it can't be moved into your funding account, an isolated position or a sub-account. It can only stay in your trading account and be used there: as margin to open positions, and to pay trading fees and funding fees.
Once activated, the voucher's funds move into your trading account automatically and count toward your USDT equity. So on the day you activate, your trading account's total assets will look higher than what you deposited, and they'll drop again when the bonus expires and is taken back; the help page says this is normal. That extra slice isn't yours, so leave it out when you work out your own principal and returns.
The last paragraph of the terms also says that if suspicious activity is found, or the bonus is used maliciously or abused, OKX reserves the right to take action on the accounts involved. Using the bonus outside the rules puts the whole account at risk.
02Turning bonus profits into money you can withdraw
You close the position. When you close a profitable position, the bonus balance stays the same and the profit goes to your real account, after which you can withdraw it or transfer it to another account. The trading fee on that closing trade comes out of the profit first, and only then out of the bonus.
The bonus balance works out as: trading bonus balance = total activated amount − amount used. If you hold several vouchers, the figure shown after activation is the combined total.
Say your trading account holds none of your own money, and you activate two vouchers, first one for 50 USDT and then one for 30 USDT (the amounts are made up and don't match any real promotion; the fees are arbitrary too, and your real rate depends on your account tier):
| What happened | Bonus balance (USDT) | Extra money in your real account (USDT) |
|---|---|---|
| Both vouchers activated | 50 + 30 = 80 | 0 |
| First perpetual position closed at a loss; loss plus fees come to 26 | 80 − 26 = 54 | 0 |
| Second position closed with a profit of 15; the 0.6 closing fee comes out of the profit first | 54 (unchanged) | 15 − 0.6 = 14.4, withdrawable |
At this point the 14.4 USDT is yours, while the 54 USDT is still only margin. If that 54 isn't used up before it expires, the platform takes it back, and it never becomes your money.
Once the profit is in your real account, moving it to an on-chain wallet means picking a network and checking the fee, the same as any other USDT withdrawal. The steps are in our guide to OKX crypto withdrawals.
03Which money pays losses, fees and funding first?
While you have a bonus, the system uses it first once you open a position; there's nothing to set by hand. Which money gets touched first in each case:
| Case | Rule on the help page |
|---|---|
| Margin for opening a position | The bonus can serve as margin and is used ahead of your own funds |
| Losses | Taken from the bonus first; once the bonus is used up, your own assets are used |
| Trading fees | Taken from the bonus first; when a position closes at a profit, taken from that profit first and then from the bonus |
| Funding fees | Can be paid with the bonus |
| Closing at a profit | The profit goes to your real account and can be withdrawn; the bonus balance stays the same |
| Liquidation | The bonus counts toward equity and may be used up; the page says only the bonus is affected and your own funds are held separately and won't be touched |
The losses row and the liquidation row don't agree. On deduction order the help page says: "Deduction order: trading fees and losses are deducted from the trading bonus first. Once the trading bonus is exhausted, your own assets will be used." Its answer on liquidation says: "Your trading bonus counts toward your equity, so it can be used up if a position is liquidated. Only the bonus is affected and your own funds are held separately and aren't touched."
Plan your funds around the less favorable reading. While you're testing with the bonus, don't keep your own USDT in the trading account at the same time; leave it in the funding account. If the bonus gets lost down to zero, there's nothing else in the trading account to take, and the cost of that round stops at the bonus.
04Products and account mode the OKX trading bonus works with
The help page lists the eligible products twice, and the two lists don't match. The opening says: "Trading bonuses are only applicable to margin trading, perpetual futures, and options (excluding Options Express)." The scope section says: "Applicable products: Perpetual, Futures, Options (exclude simple options)" and "Non-applicable product: Spot", and adds that the "Trading bonus can't be used for spot, isolated margin mode, or trading bots and strategies".
- Allowed: perpetual futures and options appear in both lists. Only the opening names margin trading, and only the scope section lists Futures next to Perpetual. The excluded options product is Options Express in the opening and simple options in the scope section.
- Account and positions: the account has to be in futures mode, with positions in cross margin.
- Not allowed: spot, isolated margin and trading bots.
OKX Learn's article on reward types also points out that each reward's own terms set its expiry date and usage limits, so open the voucher's details and check them before you activate it.
Don't mix up the bonus and demo trading. Demo trading runs on virtual funds; the bonus places live orders, positions can be liquidated, and the profit is real too. If you want to try things before putting in real money, here's one order to do it in: first get comfortable opening, setting a stop-loss and closing in OKX demo trading, then run a few live trades with the bonus, and only after that bring in your own money. Those live trades have real consequences: a liquidation can use up the bonus, and section 03 sets out why the help page leaves it unclear whether your own money in the trading account is safe after that. What to understand before your first leveraged trade is covered in our risk primer on OKX leverage and futures.
05Activating a bonus voucher and finding the balance
Claiming a bonus has two preconditions: you've completed identity verification, and local law where you live allows derivatives trading. The terms add that, to comply with local regulations, the bonus may not be available in some regions.
- Find the voucher: in the app, it's in your rewards list inside the rewards hub; on the website, open the menu at the top of the page and look for your rewards. You need to be logged in to see it.
- Check the account mode: the bonus can only be activated in futures mode. If you're in another mode, switch to futures mode first.
- Activate it: once that succeeds, a button for using the bonus appears and the voucher's funds move into your trading account automatically.
- Check the balance: in the app, open your assets, go to the trading account and look at USDT equity; or, on the trading page, tap assets and check USDT equity there.
- Check the history: in the app, it's the trading account's history under your assets; on the website, it's the trading account history in the order center under your assets.
If activating does nothing, or you can't see the voucher at all, work back through the conditions above: is identity verification done, can you trade derivatives where you live, is the account in futures mode? If all three check out and it still won't work, submit a support ticket through the Help Center with a screenshot of the voucher.
06When does an OKX trading bonus expire?
A voucher has two dates: when the voucher itself expires, and how long the balance stays valid after activation. The number of days depends on each voucher's own terms; the help page gives no single figure. OKX Learn offers one example, activate within 30 days of issue and use it within 30 days of activation, but that's only an example. You can see both dates for your own voucher by tapping the ⓘ icon on it.
- Voucher not activated in time: it lapses automatically, can't be restored and isn't refunded.
- Activated balance reaches its expiry: the unused part is taken back and can't be extended or transferred.
- Positions or orders still open at expiry: the clawback waits until those positions and orders are closed; the platform won't liquidate your positions to reclaim the bonus.
- Account mode switched after activation: any activated but unused balance becomes void on the spot.
The help page states that expiry doesn't affect your real assets, so profit you made with the bonus that's already in your real account is untouched. The terms also say OKX has no obligation to remind users that a bonus is about to expire, so keeping track is up to you. Putting the expiry date in your phone calendar on the day you activate is more reliable than going back to your rewards list later.
